May A Window Of God's Light Always Surprise You

Aisling is a sacred, welcoming space that offers a healing, transformative presence in which to listen, reflect, hope and pray.

The name Aisling (pronounced ASH-ling) is an Irish word for “vision, hope and dream”. Aisling is a lovely, small, ecumenical retreat house in North Carroll County. It has a chapel, 8 acres of quiet space including a pond and prayer garden, rooms for small group gatherings and overnight facilities. Aisling Retreat House, opened in 1994, is a ministry of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Assisi.
The vision, hope and dream of Aisling Retreat House is beautifully expressed in a blessing by the Celtic poet, John O'Donohue: "May you come to see your life as a quiet sacrament of beauty, service and abundant love, where outside voices of fear find no echo in you, where crippled hope can find wings, and scarcity enters, at last, into the abundant grace of God."
